I liked the way that he was expressing certain issues that I was beginning to experience, but hadn't seen clearly. His forthright comments and criticisms of funding mechanisms and accountability (or lack of it) helped me to make sense of the mismatch I was discovering between what I read about "development" and what I observed.
Later, when I was working with John Dada it came as no surprise that John and Peter held each other in high regard.
