November 15th - half way through the month. So what's happened so far?
A quick skim through my diary shows:.
- Tuesdays 1st and 8th - First and second in Viany Gupta'' series on 'Futures we Deserve" at his Tuesday evening "Truth and Beauty" evenings at the Westminster Hub.
- Weds 2nd and 9th - regular UK-Nigeria meeings.
- Thurs 4th - First Thursday, combined with Dadamac Day (where I was helped by David Pinto). Initially I'd booked to go to "I'll Have What She's Having" at RSA http://www.eventbrite.com/event/2280005558 but decided it might be a problem if Dadmac Day went on too long so I'd cancelled that and attended a GlobalNet webinar instead.
- Wed 2nd-Fri 4th. David Pinto was around, some useful exchanges of ideas, plus the Dadamac Day help.
- Fri 4th - School of Commoning Meet-up
- Sun 6th - Occupy LSX (London Stock exchange) - my first visit
- Mon 7th - a couple of hours Skype with Ken Owino - ref work in Kenya
- Thurs 10th - "Are we kind enough?" at Somerset House
- Sun 13th - Wow Society Cooking Pot - http://thecookingpot.eventbrite.com/
- Mon 14th - AFFORD - ‘RemitPlusTM Report: Linking Remittances to Business, Investment & Savings
- Tues 15th - in my diary though I won't be taking any active part - Ron Dennis will be with Comic Relief answering questions about his funding bid - plastic recylcing pilot study at Kafanchan - arranged through Dadamac. John Dada wil be on hand to answer questions by phone. The bid fell at this hurdle almost a year ago - hoping it will get thorough this time.
- Tues 15th - GlobalNet Webinar- http://www.meetup.com/21stCenturyNetwork/
It's a varied list but, believe me, there is a unifying theme - it's just not very obvious. Perhaps it's sufficient to say that everything I do has some kind of connection with "collaboration and change", or that I am "studying emergent ICT related systems in the twenty-first century" (or some other phrase that means everything and nothing) and that all the dadamac activities are part fo my field-work. If I try to blog more often about the UK side of things then the picture may become clearer, or at least more complete, as has happened through the regular blogs on our UK-Nigeria meetings.
All the usual things are going on in the background plus
- chats with Fola from Dadamac outpost in Ago-Are now he is mor eeasily able to be online
- responses to latest outbreak of violence in Kafanchan
- sorting out online giving via Chariy Choice http://www.charitychoice.co.uk/charitydetails.asp?ref=161125&name=dadamac
