Dadamac is made up of a continually developing group of people with the founders John Dada and Pamela McLean (me) at the heart of it.
A collective noun - not a list
When people are connecting with each other it is helpful to talk about "us" and "we". It would be crazy to keep having to make a list of names of people who are invovled at any particular time. It's much easier to have a collectve noun that includes everyone. Ours is usually "the Dadamac Community". Different people get involved with Dadamac at different times for different reasons - some connecting with John, some connecting with me, some connecting with both of us. They are all part of our community - or the wider netwrok..
The Community
The Dadamac Community is a collection of people who are in contact with each other for a variety of reasons related to Dadamac interests. This makes it hard to say where the community begins or ends (rather like some extended families). The main thing is that people who are in the Dadamac Community have chosen to be part of Dadamac and to get involved in something it is doing. There is no formal membership. If you have been in contact with us in some way and feel involved in what we are doing, then you are welcome as part of the Dadamac Community.
The Team(s)
Sometimes a small group in the Dadamac Community work together closely for a while on a particular project. We often use the description Dadamac Team when we want to reflect that deeper level of collaboration.
The Network
The Dadamac Network is a useful wide ranging description - it's wider than the Dadamac Community. It ranges from people I met briefly (who may not even remember our meeting) to people I know well, but, although they are interested and encouraging regarding Dadamac things, they would not see themselves as part of the Dadamac Community. I tend to add names and profiles to the Dadamac Network when I need to introduce people to each other, or for my own reference. Natrually I don't put up any private information.

Informal contact
Maybe the most important part of the Dadamac Community is the way we just happen to bump into each other online. It is always a pleasure to go visible on yahoo, or skype or google, see who happens to say hello, and have a quick catch-up. (Today it was Yusuf Tariya via yahoo from North Nigeria, Folabi Sunday Folarin via google chat from SW Nigeria, Yorubaland, and Kelechi Micheals via Skype from South Nigeria, Igboland). These informal connections, greetings and updates help to make the Dadamac Community what it is.
