A busy week at Fantsuam

News of an assortment of comings and goings kicked off this week’s online meeting between the UK and Nigeria teams. We were told of the imminent departures of three of the VSO team members who have provided such invaluable service at Fantsuam. At the same time, we were informed of some new arrivals and the welcome new appointment of a Programs Manager. In addition to this during our busy hour online, we also covered topics ranging from Sickle Cell. screening, bandwidth issues, and beekeeping! Cicely, Lauri and Dori We were sad to be reminded by John that Cicely, Lauri and Dori,...

NUTRITIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPRT FOR OVCs AT UBE PRI SCHL UNGWA YANSHI Originally uploaded by Dadamac Community Our weekly UK-Nigeria team meeting opened with the exciting news that Fantsuam Foundation VSO volunteer Teleri was about to be interviewed on BBC radio. It was a marvellous opportunity to spread the word, and we were later told that she had proved a great ambassador for FF and Dadamac - and had even persuaded the Radio Northampton interviewer to publish links to our website from the station’s own page! Elsewhere, one of the week’s main Project updates came from Edi and concerned the...

Attachab: A new appointment !

Attachab Originally uploaded by Dadamac Community One of the benefits of using a Skype typed conversation for the weekly UK-Nigeria meetings was demonstrated this week. For despite not being present (and because I was invited in my absence) I have been able to look at the archive, catch up with the news from Fantsuam Foundation, and consequently write this blog! Firstly, the Dadamac team welcomed Jim, the new VSO volunteer. Jim will be helping John Dada develop the site at Attachab over the next 6 months. Having visited Attachab and met the village chief on Monday, Jim told us all...

Dadamac Digest - July 24th - August 10th

A quick catch up of what has been going on in the last couple of weeks - also published at Dadamac's Posterous (it's from my viewpoint so apologies for lots of paragraphs starting "I"). First Thursday Andrius had given me the software for the worknets chatroom but I have yet to find a server for it, so First Thursday has moved to Skype for now. The August session covered a lot, so I tried to share First Thursday August in some detail. First Thursdays are changing shape. For the first couple of years First Thursday was just "me at home...

A Diverse Wednesday Meeting!

Our weekly meetings are always eagerly anticipated as so often the information that the UK receives from Nigeria is of such high calibre. This week was no exception. In fact it poses a problem for me - how best to captivate all the information about the various developments at Fantsuam Foundation ? As a result I have decided to do a brief blog now, which will just give the gist of this week’s online UK-Nigeria meeting and I will then follow this up with smaller blogs about the individual projects. First John Dada sent us some information about the recent...
