Franz Nahrada and SSL workshop

Thank you Franz for sending me the information (including application form) about the workshop on "Streaming, Sharing and Learning (SSL) – The options for and the use of Interactive Digital Video over long distances in adult education". In your (personal) email you asked me to help you get the message out to the right people, and so I am replying to you through a dadamac open letter. This way it will be easy to share this with others now and later. Thank you for encouraging me to apply. I would appreciate the opportunity to do what the workshop offers and...

Moving in - Useful Links

I am looking at my email inbox and thinking what emails I should choose to reply to as I "move in" to my space here at dadamac.net. As I look, I realise that I will probably be making reference to information published on the Internet within my replies. This means it would be helpful to have the relevant links easily to hand.

Meetings: Skype or Yahoo?

When Dadamac started to have regular UK-Nigeria team meetings we used Yahoo. (It was the natural choice, because people in the team already knew Yahoo and had Yahoo IDs.) This week, when we gathered at our various locations ready for our online session, Skype had a glitch, which seriously interupted the business of the meeting. That glitch prompts this consideration of...

The community and the website

My reply to Vijay . Hi Vijay I am glad you feel you are getting a good idea of who we are and what we do. You explained what you have already learned about us through the website. I liked the way you expressed it, saying "the Dadamac community links up to the Fantsuam Foundation in a partnership that could open new vistas in collaboration and knowledge networks". Also I want to thank you for sticking with us despite the techie glitches and teething troubles we had when we started to try and introduce this idea of open letters. I...

A Clearer Picture

My reply to Pam . Hi Pam Thanks for the long reply and please convey my thanks to Andy for his thoughts on how the open letter section should look and feel. Over the past five hours, I have not been able to open the site. So I had no other choice but to take a look at the cached versions of the site (which takes time to download). Anyway, to move on with things, I decided to keep hustling into the site through the cache versions and read whatever I could lay my eyes on. The silver lining in...
